The highly anticipated second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to kick off on February 23, 2024, with a thrilling encounter between the defending champions, Mumbai Indian Women, and last year’s finalists, Delhi Capitals Women, at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will start on 23 February 2024 with the last year’s finalists clashing in the opening game at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
WPL 2024 will be played at two venues, The first leg of the tournament will take place from February 23 to March 4 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, while the second leg will unfold from March 5 at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Cricket is witnessing a great period by creating more awareness for women’s cricket. Currently there are only 5 teams participating in WPL but it should be doubled in the upcoming years aiming to foster more talent and opportunities in the sport.
Mumbai Indian Women – WPL 2023 Champion
Led by the formidable Harmanpreet Kaur, Mumbai Indian Women enter the tournament as the defending champions, eager to secure another title. Notably, uncapped Indian sensation Kashvee Gautam fetched a staggering bid of 2 Crore, while Australia’s Anabel Sutherland also commanded the same value.
In a testament to the growing recognition of Indian talent, Vrinda Dinesh secured a notable bid of 1.30 Crores, underscoring the depth of talent present in the league. Furthermore, the Royal Challenger Bangalore team, spearheaded by the dynamic Smriti Mandhana, adds another layer of excitement to the tournament.
