That concludes this game. Aussies go second on the table for now. On 1st November, two games are lined up but first, it will be Afghanistan taking on Sri Lanka at 9.30 am IST (4 am GMT). Do join us for the coverage. Cheers!
Andy Balbirnie, the skipper of Ireland says it was a tough game, Finch's innings took it away, they bowled well for the most parts but a few overs did not go their way. Credits Tucker for the way he played and he hopes he can continue to do well.
Aaron Finch, the skipper of Australia is also the Player of the Match. He says it was not the easiest of wicket as it played slow and 180 was a good score on the wicket. Adds he is feeling no pressure, there has been a lot of support for him, he has trained really well and that is all you can control. Mentions there will be good days and there will be bad days. States wide balls were not easy to face but when they were bowling straight, it was easier. Informs he will get a scan and he hopes the injury is not bad enough. Ends by saying they are very hopeful of going through. Finch says it was a good performance, he felt 180 was a good score. Adds they needed to lay the foundation early but they found it difficult to get going straight on. Informs David had a niggle but nothing to worry. States England and New Zealand is a big game, it would have been great to dismiss Ireland for a lot lower but Tucker played a brilliant knock.
...Presentation coming up...
Earlier in the day, Australia, after being inserted, struggled for the first 10 overs with the bat. However, they managed to score around 100 in the last 10 courtesy of Finch and Stoinis and that took their total to which we felt was above par. Ireland, despite the efforts of Lorcan Tucker, have fallen well short of the Aussie total.
Australia will be slightly disappointed they only managed to win by 42 runs. They just leaked a lot of runs once the Powerplay ended, especially Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood. They were poor once the ball got old. They were either too full or too short. However, pretty sure Australia's number one priority heading into this game was the two points and they have got that.
Had it not been for Lorcan Tucker, this could have well been embarrassing for Ireland. The Aussie players ran through the top order in no time and they were 5 down in the Powerplay itself. Maxwell and Starc did the damage earlier on. After that though, it was the Tucker show. He really took on the Aussie bowlers. There were wickets falling at the other end but he batted brilliantly. Found the boundaries at ease. Was dropped and he made full use of the life he got. Ireland have to thank for coming so close or at one stage, it seemed the margin of defeat could be well over 100.
How costly is that drop from Cummins going to be? Yes, despite that it is still a good win for them but they would have wanted the margin to be a lot higher. Maybe had Cummins taken the catch, Australia might have bettered England's NRR at the end of this game but that is not the case now. Still though, the Aussies have kept their campaign alive with two wins in a row.

OUT! RUN OUT! Tossed up on middle. Little reverse sweeps it to point and tries to give the strike to Tucker but is slow as he runs across. The throw from Marsh comes to the bowler's side and Maxwell clips the bails off. The replay shows Little is well short. AUSTRALIA WIN BY 42 RUNS.

A full toss on middle, Lorcan Tucker flicks it to deep mid-wicket for two. Apart from the first over, Starc has been very expensive. 44 runs needed in 18 balls.
