The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season will have 10 teams playing this cash-rich league tournament. The auction will be a grand affair this time, and it will be held on 12th and 13th February 2022 in Bangalore.
The previous eight franchises of the Indian Premier League have retained three to four players from their franchise teams and now, Lucknow could make their team. They have drafted the players in their team. Lucknow will replace RPS – Rising Pune Supergiants team in this edition. RPS played the two IPL seasons when CSK and RR were banned for two years on the 2016 and 2017 IPL seasons.

KL Rahul to lead the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022
The man with the golden bat has come from nowhere, and suddenly he is in the scheme of things. Kannur Lokesh Rahul has been sensational for Team India since 2021. KL will lead the new franchise Lucknow Super Giants – LSG.
Rahul has played for SRH, RCB and he was the skipper of Punjab Kings before the PBKS Franchise released the Karnataka opener. An IPL source said that KL Rahul would captain the Lucknow franchise, and they have also picked two other players in the draft. Rahul was brought for 17 crores which is the highest price in history of the IPL.
KL Rahul was the first player picked in the draft by Lucknow. KL Rahul had scored more runs as a captain for the Punjab Kings franchise. He had averaged 56.65 and led the PBKS side from the front. Till now, he has amassed 2548 runs, and he has been the leading run-scorer for his side in the last three to four years.
Ravi Bhisnoi and Marcus Stonis too named in the Lucknow Super Giants Franchise drafts
Along with KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bhisnoi, the uncapped spin bowler has also been picked in the Lucknow team. Earlier, Bishnoi also played for the PBKS franchise, while the Aussie all-rounder Stonis played for the DC Capitals side.
Ravi Bhisnoi will get four crores, and Marcus Stonis will get 11 crores. According to ESPN, the Lucknow franchise will have a purse of 59.80 crores for the mega auction this year.
Marcus Stoinis is the star all-rounder who helped Delhi Capitals reach the first final of the IPL. But he has been left out by the franchise for the IPL 2022 season. The Lucknow franchise will be the fourth one for Marcus. Stoinis in his IPL career. The all-rounder did a decent job for DC. He scored 441 runs from 27 games and picked up 15 wickets to his name.
Talking about Ravu Bhisnoi, the youngster is an uncapped spin bowler. But he has the best skills to succeed at any level of cricket. Ravi was the leading wicket-taker in the Under 19 World Cup in 2020. So far, he has played 23 matches and got 24 scalps with an economy rate of six. Bishnoi is in the Indian Team for the home series against West Indies. He might get a chance to play the last ODI match of the series, which India leads by a margin of 2-0.
Lucknow is named as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
The RPS Group has named their new franchise Lucknow Super Giants. This news was confirmed through the social media account of the Lucknow side. The upcoming season of the IPL is being planned to be held in India and all the matches are said to be played in Mumbai from the last week of March till the end of May 2022.
