Rain at Ahmedabad paused the play by washing out the Narendra Modi stadium but couldn’t keep the fans away. CSK won their 5th title and was one of the most successful teams in the IPL. CSK handed over a wonderful win to those who had stood in long ticket queues, safeguarded their tickets from the rain and grouped torn pieces, slept on railway station platforms, and faced many discomforts during these two days. This was a great cricketing experience in their lifetime.
The stadium was almost filled with a massive crowd when CSK resumed the run chase indicating the love towards the team and MS Dhoni. Even it has nearly changed the mindset of MS Dhoni to play one more season if fitness permits.
CSK Blessed With Rain & Efforts Of Ground Staffs
Rain almost spoiled the game, but it was also one of the lucky factors for CSK since GT bowlers couldn’t control their length except for a few bowlers. It created a bright chance for CSK batters to seal the victory.
Ground Staff worked really hard to cover the main pitch, and also the side pitch was mistakenly filled with water in the rain break and took more time to dry and be ready to hold play. They worked behind the scenes to witness an epic and thriller IPL final match. Not only the fans at the ground but the internet is also active, even late at night to watch this. Many viewership records are also part of the Tata IPL Finals 2023.
Coverage Of CSK & GT Innings
GT batters Shubman Gill and Saha started the final match and had a fire started. Deepak Chahar dropped both the GT openers before taking Saha’s wicket. The magical ball and 0.1 lightning stumping by Dhoni made the danger & in-form Gill depart for 39 runs. It showed that it was the only technique to take his wicket.
Sai Sudarshan was batting on 17-ball 20 without big shots and struggling to make the score. Then after 10 overs, Sai hyped up with some brilliant and authentic cricketing strokes to end up with a 47-ball 96 and helped his team to a record total in the final. He missed the century only by 4 runs, but it doesn’t matter since he put his team on top with a handy cameo by Hardik Pandya and created pressure for CSK batters.
Then the rain did his job and again made the fans sad but the game resumed at 12:10 AM. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway cut through the fuss of pressure with some quick and valuable runs in the powerplay. Following their wickets after the powerplay Rahane & Dube joined hands and stitched a partnership without any drop in RR. But some dot balls and boundary-less innings made Rahane go for the big shot in Mohit Sharma’s over, but caught by Vijay Shankar.
CSK’s Unsung Players
Dube, who struggled to get the boundary, smashed two consecutive sixes off the big bowler Rashid Khan who rarely gave more than 13 runs an over in the big game. Ambati Rayudu, in his last innings, played a three-ball assault on Mohit Sharma and put CSK on top with consecutive boundaries 6, 4, 6 and lost his wicket to Mohit Sharma. Then the sound is on with Dhoni’s entry but silenced by Mohit Sharma in the next minute. Dhoni goes for a duck.
Then Jadeje joined the party. 12 needed off the last over. But the first 3 balls were deadly Yorkers by Mohit Sharma. A few inches separated the winners from the runners-up. The error by a bit in length by Mohit got deposited for a six and four by Jadeja off the last 2 balls. It made CSK sealed their 5th title.
