Sams was dropped after the game against KKR.
The Mumbai Indians are in dire need of their first two points in IPL 2022. They have lost all of their first four games with the most recent one being a seven-wicket defeat against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in a one-sided contest at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April 9.
As MI look forward to registering their first win this season, the team’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has got a valuable piece of advice for one of his bowling partner Daniel Sams. Sams might not have had the best of IPL so far but, Bumrah has said that the Australian pacer is experienced enough to realize what needs to be done in such circumstances. The left-handed pace bowler was at the receiving end of Pat Cummins’ wrath against KKR conceding 35 runs in a single over.
“See this is T20 cricket. Anybody can get hit and anybody can have a good game or a bad game but, in this game it’s very important that you cannot carry baggage going further because there are back-to-back matches. There are a lot of matches on the go so you have to quickly move on from it and he is an experienced cricketer, he understands that”, said Jasprit Bumrah during the pre-match press conference ahead of the PBKS game.
“Every bowler in the past has gotten hit so everybody understands, that everybody has become skilled and they know how to move on. We are just having a discussion that if again we come in that scenario how do we help him and what are the plans that we can make? Other than that he is highly experienced, he is looking forward to contributing whenever he gets an opportunity and nothing else is more important than that”, he added.
