Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Venkatesh Iyer has turned into the cynosure of specialists and fans after his two gallant exhibitions in the Indian Premier League (IPL). First up the Madhya Pradesh fellow jumped on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowling assault by scoring an unbeaten 41 and later in the following game against Mumbai Indians (MI) he scored 53 to push KKR to two strong successes in the resumption of their IPL crusade in the UAE.
These two thumps from Venkatesh Iyer have left the specialists intrigued. The hitter was gobbled up by the KKR the executives prior in the sales because of his hitting capacity. In any case, oddly he was not given a game. With their mission needing a recovery of sorts, the administration went to Iyer for some force hitting at the top thus far he has not disillusioned.
Previous cricketers Irfan Pathan and Matthew Hayden were profuse in recognition of the KKR opener and praised him for taking the assault to the resistance by his dauntless batting. Pathan said how Iyer was content with that one thump against RCB and continued playing with similar mentality against MI’s bowlers as well.
We will see a great deal of Venkatesh Iyer in future, says Pathan
“First match, he showed a great deal of character. He showed a portion of the shots too, cover drive what not. Yet, there is consistently this inquiry in your brain as a youthful player, what will occur in the following match. Who will turn up? Is it a similar person who will turn up?” he said on Star Sports post-match show
Mumbai Indians’ bowling assault included Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, and Adam Milne, at this point Iyer was not fretted over the danger the threesome had and continued playing his shots. Pathan praised the disposition of the southpaw for handling elite pacers.
“He did, he really turned up better, particularly against Bumrah, against Boult. Against the Mumbai Indians bowling line-up, he showed a great deal of character. There is much more we will see of Venkatesh Iyer later on,” he clarified.
