Right then, that's it from the coverage of this game. The action in the Hundred will continue on 1st August 2024, as London Spirit Women take on Welsh Fire Women in match number 10 at Lord's. The first ball will be at 4 pm IST (10.30 am GMT), but as you'll know you can join us early for the build-up. Unitl then, take care and goodbye!
Dan Mousley (15-7-9-3) wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD for the calmness and composure he showed in the final 10 deliveries to get his side home. He starts by saying that he just tried to get as many yorkers as he could. He tried to sneak them in and let the batters make mistakes. (On bowling fast yorkers) It's one thing that he has on his side, and he tries to use it to his advantage. (Message during the break) Just stay in the game. The closer it gets, the more nervous everyone becomes. (On Jacob Bethell) He feels lucky to have spent time with Bethell back in county cricket. He believes Bethell is going to go a long way in the future and adds that he played a brilliant knock to take the team to a competitive total. Informs that this win will give the team a lot of confidence.
Earlier in the innings, Birmingham Phoenix were unable to score runs freely as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. One youngster stepped up for them with the bat in Jacob Bethell who batted till the very end, and played an unbeaten knock of 46 runs to give something for his bowlers to defend. Dan Mousley then, the 23-year old, cricketer puts his hand up with the ball in hand and defends 9 runs in the final 10 deliveries to pick two crucial points from this game.
Alex Hales followed suit soon after, with Adam Milne getting the better of him and finding his rhythm for the death. Trent Rockets suddenly had two new batters at the crease, in Rovman Powell and Sam Hain who took their time to settle in, got off to starts but lost their wickets in consecutive deliveries, which took the momentum away from them. Then comes out Rashid Khan, who scored a stunning boundary on his very first delivery and took the equation down to 10 runs from 10 balls with 5 wickets in hand. This is when Moeen Ali decides to bring Dan Mousley into the attack, who came out all guns blazing and kept nailing the yorker, like no other bowler. He kepts attacking the stumps consistently and took 3 wickets in his final set of 10, to get his side home.
Trent Rockets were quite comfortable in the run chase, in fact one might say they ever even cruising at one stage, by being on 74/1, despite losing their in-form batter in Tom Banton. It was Joe Root who came in at the crease and made his intentions very clear. He forged a solid partnership with Alex Hales and rebuilt the innings really well, but he could not stick around for long and Birmingham Phoenix struck back by making it 74/2 near the halfway stage of this run chase. Although, with still 8 wickets in hand and some quality hard-hitter coming down the order, no one really thought Birmingham Phoenix have it in them to pull this game back in their favour.
OH MY WORD! Dan Mousley what have you done here. Birmingham Phoenix take two points from this game out of nowhere, and record their second win of the season. The home crowd was in it, until the last 15 balls of this innings came through. Trent Rockets scored just 7 runs and lost 5 wickets in the final 12 deliveries of this innings.

Sensational stuff! As a spinner to nail those yorkers, just unbelievable. Full and on the pads. Wood swings but misses. Birmingham Phoenix win the match by 6 runs.
Luke Wood is the last batter in to face the Hat Trick ball.
OUT! Taken! Two in two. A legal ball and now Phoenix just can't lose. A full toss on the pads. Thompson looks to heave it on the leg side. He fails to get any timing. It goes off the top edge towards mid-wicket and it is taken by Tim Southee there. Dan Mousley is on a Hat-Trick here.

OUT! TIMBER! Dan Mousley you beauty! Oh, what a turn around. His side are surely on top now. A yorker on off. Rashid looks to carve it but misses and it goes on to hits the stumps. Trent Rockets are falling apart here.

Terrific! Just how do you hit those? This is yorker on middle. Wasim looks to jam it out but misses and it hits him in his pads.
Who will bowl the final set of 5? Moeen Ali decides to stick with Dan Mousley. Also, Birmingham Phoenix have been a bit slow in between overs and they need to bring an extra fielder inside the circle here.
