Babar Azam maintains his top position in the latest rankings.
In the latest weekly update of the ICC Men’s Player Rankings, Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has climbed four spots and has cemented the no. 10 position in the bowler’s rankings. In the recent one-off T20I fixture against Australia, he finished with figures of 2/21 off four overs. Earlier this year, he was awarded ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2021 as well.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam has maintained his top position in the latest ICC T20I rankings due to his impressive form. In his last T20I appearance against Australia, Babar amassed 66 off 46 balls, which unfortunately came in a losing cause. He is the no.1 batter in the ODI rankings as well and garnered a total of 276 runs in three matches against Australia in the ODI series.
Nepal all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee was named Player of the series in the recently completed Tri-series involving PNG and Malaysia. He rose 13 spots to no.38 for batters, 47 spots to no.135 for bowlers, and climbed 10 spots to no.10 in the T20I all-rounder’s rankings. Namibia’s JJ Smit marked his presence in the top five T20I all-rounders with his performance of 71 off 35 balls, and figures of 6/1, including a hat-trick in one of the three fixtures against Uganda in the recent bilateral series.
The South African spinner Keshav Maharaj, who bagged the Player of the Match and Player of the Series award in the final Test match of the series against Bangladesh climbed to 21st position in bowlers and 13th in all-rounders of the latest Test rankings.
