Right then, that is it from this humdinger of a game. The game went down the wire and in the end, it was the UP women who came out victorious. The action continues in the Women's T20 League as we have a game lined up for Saturday, the 9th of March. It will be Mumbai versus Gujarat at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Do join us a bit early for the build-up as well. Until then, take care, and cheers!
Deepti Sharma is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her outstanding knock of 59 runs and her four-fer with the ball. She says she backed her strengths and shots, read the situation and played accordingly. Adds that she tries to keep the set batters quiet by bowling dots and keeping it tight. Mentions that she knew Shikha plays straight and she knew there could be one ball coming her way and was prepared for it. Concludes that she will try to keep things the same and keep learning along the way going ahead.
Alyssa Healy, the skipper of UP, says that this is cricket and anything can happen. Adds that they didn't get the partnership and ended up with a low total on the board. Says that the wicket was a bit difficult to bat on and she is really happy that they got the last wicket. Ends by saying that they kept their nerves till the end and she is proud of the girls.
Stay tuned for the Presentations...
Meg Lanning the skipper of Delhi and the current Orange Cap holder says it's disappointing to not get a win and credits UP for their efforts to pull the game back. Adds that her wicket was the turning point and she should've taken it deeper and they couldn't do it in the end. Mentions that they did a lot of things right especially the bowling and some parts of batting and they will work on the things that didn't go right.
Grace Harris, the player who kept her nerve in the final over is down for a quick chat. She says she knew exactly where to bowl and it was executed perfectly. Mentions that the run-out was the key for them and credits Saima Thakor for her bowling at the start knocking Shafali Verma's wicket under pressure. Mentions that it was a tight game and a couple of wickets turned the tables in their favour. Concludes that it was an exciting game and is happy to be on the winning side.
Earlier in the match, UP Women faced early setbacks but Deepti Sharma's resilient innings of 59 runs anchored the team's total to 138 runs. Alyssa Healy contributed 29 runs before getting dismissed by Alice Capsey. Grace Harris partnered with Deepti for a 33-run stand. Despite wickets falling regularly, Deepti Sharma's outstanding batting performance was instrumental in reaching a competitive total. For Delhi, Radha Yadav and Titas Sadhu picked up two wickets while Capsey, Pandey, Reddy and Jonassen had one in their kitty.
UP Women will be elated with this win as they now stay alive in this competition! They will be a tad disappointed with their performance with the bat and will look to improve on it. Deepti Sharma was undoubtedly the pick of the bowler for them as she picked up a four-fer and was very economical. She just conceded 5 runs in the penultimate over but the fabulous final over from Grace Harris ensured their side ended up on the winning side!
Delhi didn't have a big target at hand but lost Shafali Verma early on. Meg Lanning and Alice Capsey steadied the ship for a while but Capsey couldn't get going. The skipper, Lanning took matters into her own hands and found the fence at crucial times before notching up her third half-century in a row. It looked like they were in control but things got really nervy after her departure. Once she fell, wickets kept on tumbling for them and they never recovered. They thought they had won the game after the drop catch from Poonam Khemnar which went on for a maximum, but Grace Harris had other plans.
Crazy scenes, crazy game! What a cracker-jack of a game we have witnessed here at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi! Pure ecstasy on one side and heartbreak on the other. What a comeback! This is the lowest total defended in the Women's T20 league and UP stay alive in this competition. The momentum of the game moved from one corner to other and in the end, the UP side get over the line with just one run while Delhi lost 6 wickets for just 13 runs!

OUT! CAUGHT! What a turnaround of events it has been. UP claw their way back to win this game by 1 run. Harris bowls it slower and on middle and off, Titas Sadhu leans on and looks to loft it up and over the mid on region but she chops it straight into the fruit basket of Danni Wyatt at mid on.
Titas Sadhu is the last batter in.

OUT! RUN OUT! Can you believe it? UP are all over Delhi! Harris bowls it right on a length around off, Taniya Bhatia looks to cut it but gets an inside edge onto the gloves of Alyssa Healy who fails to grab onto it. The ball trickles away towards Rajeshwari Gayakwad at short fine leg and the batters try to steal a run. She throws back the ball to Alyssa Healy and she knocks the bails off with Jess Jonassen well short of the crease despite a full stretched dive.

Bowls a full toss on the body, Radha Yadav takes a step down the track and wacks it to deep mid-wicket for a brace. The umpire checks for the height but the replay shows that the ball was dipping on her as she walked ahead.

SIX! DROPPED! Is that the game spilt out? Harris drops the length over off, Radha Yadav waits and pulls it straight to deep mid-wicket. Poonam Khemnar overruns into the ball and spills out the catch trying to grab it over her head. The ball gets over the ropes and Delhi now just need 4 more runs.
