Right then, that is it from The Hundred Men's Final and just before we bow out, both the Men's and Women's winning teams place their respective trophies onto the podium on the ground as Heather Knight and Sam Billings lift up that heavy trophy in front of some fireworks and that marks the end of another entertaining season of The Hundred. We hope you enjoyed the coverage and until next time, take care and goodbye!
Next up, Sam Billings walks up to the podium on the gallery and lifts that elusive trophy for the second year running. He then joins his teammates as fireworks go off and the players all rejoice amidst a big round of applause from the crowd. The players then walk down the gallery and onto the ground to do a bit of a 'winner's walk.'
Sam Billings, the victorious captain of Oval Invincibles says that at the end of your career, you don't have many days like these, so it is an amazing feeling and you live for moments like these. Credits Tom Moody for being in this process for four years and calls him a genius. Tells that he has built good trust in the unit and it was visible in Saqib's performance in this big game. Mentions that they had two quality players at the top who set the tone, but they knew that they had a solid bowling attack as well. Will Jacks getting James Vince and Saqib getting Kieron Pollard was the turning point. Says that they are lucky to have a good leadership group, it was not his day with the bat but it's all about making the right decisions and backing your players. Further adds that they said at the start of the tournament, they would win the tournament. Ends by saying that it is not about just 11 players on the field. A great example of that is Tom Lammonby who is a great team player and same with Tom Curran, they are the kind of performers you want in your team.
Saqib Mahmood is the HERO OF THE MATCH. He says the Strategic Break helped them to take a break and talk with the coach and was happy to bring the team back into the game with his spell. Tells he just tried to keep it simple and not overdo it. Mentions Sam Curran kept telling these same words from mid off to him. Shares he was constantly getting picked for the Southern Brave and it was time for him to repay.
Sam Curran is the PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT for his brilliant all-round display. He says that the environment that they created over the last four years has really helped them and seeing the same faces and keeping faith in them have got rewarded. Adds that he doesn't really care if he is considered as a batting or bowling all-rounder, what matters is they have gone back-to-back here. Mentions that if you look at their performances, someone or the other always stepped up. Says that he is really glad for Tom, he did it in last year's final and contributed again so he is pleased for everyone on the team.
... THE PRESENTATION CEREMONY ...
Tom Curran is up next and he says it is hard to summarize but they have a core group of players right from the top starting with Tom Moody as their coach. Tells they have gone back-to-back but it's a really tough competition and is really happy for the way they played. Cheekily says they will now go for the three-peat.
Will Jacks is the first one in for a quick chat. He says it is really amazing to go back-to-back titles. Adds that he did get hurt by Archer but that doesn't matter now. Tells that they have worked really hard this season and they have achieved the ultimate success. Mentions that Saqib Mahmood has been in and out of the team but when it mattered, he changed the game again. Says that he knew Vince would come hard on him and the change-ups got him the wicket and also admits he got a bit carried away and was wanted by the umpires but that stuff happens. Ends by saying that they have stuck with the same team for almost four years and last season they got it right and didn't think about changing much.
Let's now hear from a few of the winning team's players...
Earlier in the game, James Vince put Oval Invincibles into bat on a deck that looked more than decent for batting and after picking up an early wicket, Southern Brave were put to the sword by the Invincibles' top order. The Brave pacers came back in strongly at different phases of the game but it was Akeal Hosein who picked three quick wickets to get things back on track. The first innings ebbed and flowed and late cameos from Tom Curran and Tom Lammonby almost took the Invincibles to 150 runs. In reply, the Brave faltered after a fine start and the Invincibles just had enough firepower with the ball to pick up wickets in a heap and got the job done.
Southern Brave had their moments in this Final and could have easily ended on the winning side but it just wasn't meant to be. Alex Davies and James Vince set things up nicely at the top with Davies being the aggressor and Vince just playing the anchor role but both fell in quick succession. There was yet another partnership in the middle phase between Leus du Plooy and Laurie Evans but again, they lost wickets in a heap. Those two instances where they went from 58/0 to 66/3 and then 99/3 to 102/7 were the telling factors and Craig Overton's late cameo of 22 from just 11 balls simply wasn't enough for the Brave to get over the line.
Oval Invincibles have done it yet again and it was a team effort and whenever they were under the pump, someone or the other stepped up and got the job done. They failed to pick up an early wicket and the pacers didn't seem of much use but they kept their head in the game and the slower bowlers got them three wickets in quick succession which opened the door for them. However, it wasn't all smooth sailing but that set of 10 from Saqib Mahmood from balls 71 to 80 completely turned the game on its head as he picked up three wickets and then Adam Zampa got his second wicket to ensure there wasn't any late hiccup. Sam Curran closed out the game well in the final set.
OVAL INVINCIBLES GO BACK-TO-BACK! Just like the Invincibles Women did in the first two seasons and the team from across the river have conquered Lord's yet again. Pure elation on the field and in the dugout and the Invincibles thoroughly deserved to win, they were sensational throughout the tournament. Southern Brave though gave it their all and it was never going to be easy playing on back-to-back days and then that emotional win in the Super Five in the Eliminator definitely took a toll on them and it showed in the latter half of this Final.

Swing and a miss! Sam Curran has done it! A slower ball, length and outside off, Archer with a wild swing across the line but misses. Southern Brave are the champions!

JUST ONE! Slower once again from Curran, full and on off, Overton mistimes his lofted shot to long on for a single.

FOUR! CHANCE! Pitches it up and bowls it on middle. Overton presses forward and thumps it to the right of long on. Donovan Ferreira calls it and dives but misjudged a bit. It rolls through his hands and rolls in the ropes.

Three legal deliveries needed from Sam Curran and Oval Invincibles will win! Very full and attacking the stumps, this is on off and Archer hits it down to long off for a single.

Four sixes needed now! A dot to start the set. A yorker, angling outside off and close to the tramline. Archer slashes his blade and misses. Archer is not happy with the call!
Who will bowl the last set? It will be Sam Curran. Can he defend 23 runs here to help the Invincibles retain their title?
