Sri Lankan pacers rattle the Bangladesh top order
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first as they looked to set a big total just like the last match. But the game couldn’t have started any worse for the home side as they lost both their openers in the first two overs. Mahmudul Hasan Roy and Tamim Iqbal were sent back without even opening their accounts.
Sri Lankan pacers, Kasun Rajita and Asitha Fernando looked in a devastating mood as they reduced Bangladesh to 24/5. Rajita scalped Veteran Shakib Al Hasan for a golden duck. Bangladesh were in serious trouble as it looked like they won’t even cross the three-figure mark in the innings.
The experienced duo of Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton das has steadied the ship for the Bangladeshi team as the pair has added 86 runs (at the time of writing the piece) so far, and has looked fairly untroubled at the crease. The home team will be hoping that they can prolong their stay at the crease at least until the end of the day’s play as Bangladesh looks to reach a secure score.
