Azam just fell short of four runs to get his double century in the second Test at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam has gained some remarkable points in the ICC Men’s Test Players Rankings for batters after his magnificent knock against Australia in the ongoing Test series. The 27-year-old fell short of four runs to get his double century and scored 196 runs in 425 balls in the second Test at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The two pulled off brilliant innings and sailed their team towards a historic draw. As a result, Babar has jumped three places to take the fifth spot in the latest rankings chart.
Notably, Rizwan and Usman Khawaja, who played a beautiful knock of 160(369) in Australia’s first innings of the Test, have also taken a leap in the rankings. Another big gainer in the rankings chart is the West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite, who has jumped 16 places to take the No. 27 spot. He scored 160 runs in the first innings, followed by 56* in the second innings of the second Test against England in Barbados.
The Australian skipper Pat Cummins has also risen one place above to take the eighth spot in the all-rounders’ chart. He picked up three wickets and stood at 34* at the end of the first innings in the Karachi Test. Jason Holder moved down to No. 2 after a difficult time during the second Test against England in Barbados. Scoring just 12 runs in the game, Holder managed to pick just one wicket in the match.
In the Test bowlers’ chart, Shaheen Shah Afridi has dropped one place down to No. 6 after he failed to put up a good show in the second Test against Australia in Karachi and was able to pick only two wickets.
