Younis Khan played 117 Tests for Pakistan, scoring more than 10,000 runs in his Test career.
Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan has been appointed as the new batting coach of Afghanistan ahead of the team’s upcoming tour to the UAE. Recently, another former Pakistan player Umar Gul was appointed as the bowling coach of the Afghanistan side, and both are expected to do wonders in the development of the youngsters.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO mentioned that the upcoming tour to the UAE will present a great opportunity for the youngsters to build their careers and get ready for competitive tournaments later in the year. He added that the inclusion of Younis and Gul in the coaching setup will definitely ease out the area of concern in the batting and bowling departments.
According to Cricbuzz, the Afghanistan national cricket team has left Kabul for the UAE on March 31, aiming to get the UAE residency for a preparatory camp for their upcoming international fixtures this year. Afghanistan last played an international series at the start of March against Bangladesh and managed to draw the two-match T20I series 1-1.
