The series is set to commence on June 9.
The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is currently in progress with all team India cricketers busy playing in the tournament. There is no respite for the players after the cash-rich league either as the Rohit Sharma-led side is scheduled to play a five-match T20I series against South Africa at home. The series is set to commence on June 9 and will go on till June 19 which will mark the end of India’s home season.
Team India has a very much busy schedule after the ongoing IPL. While the South Africa T20Is will start 10 days after the end of the cash-rich league, the Men in Blue will tour Ireland for two T20Is on June 26 and 28 respectively. The remaining Test between India and England of the five-match series is then set to be played from July 1 and then the two teams will lock horns in six limited-overs matches (3 T20Is and 3 ODIs) from July 7 to July 17.
India then has Asia Cup to play from August 27 in the T20 format in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup set to be played in Australia in October-November. Amidst the busy schedule, India has a great chance to zero in on their squad for the mega event as well. The team had failed to make it to the semis in the previous edition of the tournament.
