Shadab Khan will join his national teammate Haris Rauf in the Yorkshire camp.
Star Pakistan allrounder Shadab Khan will represent Yorkshire in the upcoming 2022 T20 Blast. The leg-spinner will be available for the first five and remaining six matches of the domestic T20 tournament. After obtaining the international clearance, Shadab will join his Pakistani teammate pacer, Haris Rauf, at Yorkshire. To note, the express pacer will only be available for the starting five matches of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Yorkshire interim manager Darren Gough has expressed his happiness over the signing of a star Pakistani player. “Shadab Khan is someone who can bat at the top, bat in the middle order, and hits the ball a long way,” Gough said according to Yorkshire’s official website. He is also an unbelievable spinner,” the former England fast bowler added.
“I m really excited to be heading to Yorkshire for the Blast. Ever since I started my cricketing journey it has always been a dream of mine to play county cricket,” said Shadab. “It will be made even more special with me being able to play alongside my good friend, Haris,” the spinner added.
Talking about Shadab’s numbers in T20 cricket, the 23-year-old has represented Pakistan in 64 matches in which he has taken 73 wickets and boasts a batting strike rate of 136.81. In ODIs, he has played 48 matches and has scalped a total of 62 wickets and he bowls with an economy of 5.12. With the bat, Shadab Khan has scored 434 runs with a decent average of 24.11. He has also stroked three fifties in the 50-over format.
