West Indies set to face Australia in 1st Semi-Final
West Indies are set to face Australia in the first semi-final of the ongoing Women’s World Cup. Afy Fletcher missing the game is a huge blow for them as she was a crucial member of their squad. She is one of the most economical bowlers for the Caribbean team having conceded runs at an economy of 3.71 in three matches she played apart from picking up four wickets.
The Stafanie Taylor-led side was fortunate to make it to the semi-final as South Africa managed to beat India in the last league game. West Indies ended the league stage at fourth place with seven points to their name. Their final league game against South Africa was abandoned which led to them depending on other results to go their way.
Australia, on the other hand, topped the points table and are unbeaten having won all their seven matches so far in the tournament.
