Ends by saying Nicholas Pooran and Klassen ended well and got them to 225.
Keshav Maharaj, the skipper of Durban's Super Giants, says that it feels good to win. It adds that it was an all-round performance from their batters, and Pooran did what he does best. Says that all the bowlers did well and were clinical. Ends by saying that it feels good to get off to a good start, and they will carry on the momentum in the coming games.
Aiden Markram, the skipper of Sunrisers Eastern Cape, says that it was a good game. Says that if they fail to pick early wickets, it will hurt. Adds that they need to execute their plans better. Ends by saying they will bounce back in their next games.
Presentations coming up...
Earlier in the match, Durban’s Super Giants had a strong start with Matthew Breetzke and Quinton de Kock scoring quickly in the powerplay, adding 58 runs for the first wicket before de Kock departed. Breetzke then partnered with JJ Smuts, who played a brilliant innings of 75 runs off 38 balls. Nicholas Pooran also contributed with an unbeaten 60 off 31 balls, and Heinrich Klaasen added 13 runs, helping Durban's Super Giants reach a mammoth total of 225 in 20 overs. Daniel Worrall took two wickets for Sunrisers Eastern Cape, while Marco Jansen took one.
Sunrisers in the Eastern Cape were off to a shaky start. They lost both of their openers inside three overs of play. Aiden Markram and Tom Abell then steadied the ship and built a partnership of 93 runs. Once Markram fell, wickets kept tumbling for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Later, Tristan Stubbs scored a quickfire 55, but it was too little, too late for them.
That was an all-round performance from Durban's Super Giants as they moved to the top of the table. They managed to pick wickets and prevent the chase comfortably. They fumbled a bit to break the Markram-Abell partnership, which went on for 93 runs. Richard Gleeson, Dwaine Pretorius, and JJ Smuts picked up two wickets each, while Keshav Maharaj and Reece Topley have one in their kitty.

OUT! CAUGHT! Soft dismissal for Worrall. Full and wide again from Pretorius as Worrall reaches for it and the ball slices off the outside edge and flies to Topley at short third. The Englishman takes a sharp catch and another one bites the dust for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

OUT! LBW! Appeal and gone! Full-length delivery on the middle and leg stump line. Stubbs gets across to flick it away but misses and gets stuck in front. The umpire raises the finger immediately. This looked plumb in front and Stubbs sent it upstairs for the review. The ball tracking shows three reds and Stubbs is a goner!

Full on the leg peg. Harmer clips it uppishly and goes on the bounce to the man at deep mid-wicket for a single.

Slower and fuller on the middle and leg. Harmer lofts it high toward the wide long-on region and this falls in no man's land for an easy two.

SIX! All the way! Too full and on off, Tristan Stubbs rocks back and lofts it over long off as the ball sails into the stands!

In the air... and lands safe! Bowls it on off, Tristan Stubbs lofts it towards long on. The ball carries and lands safe. They collect two.
