Bjorn Fortuin wins the Player of the Match award for his stunning spell. He says that he might have broken the trophy. Adds that it is nice to get back on track and is happy with his performance but would like to do even better. Tells that they knew the pitch would slow down and losing the toss turned out be a good one for them. Mentions that is is nice to perform and especially in a Derby like this feels excellent.
David Miller, the victorious skipper is in for a chat. He starts by informing about his injury and says that he just needs to see what has happened to his calf. Tells that he will find out tomorrow what the results are. Mentions he is delighted to see Jason Roy to score runs at will. Adds that they were thinking of batting first anyways and it was good to be able to do so even after lossing the toss. Informs that he just talks about how positive they are on teh field and makes sure to keep adding on to the strengths that they have as a unit.
Kieron Pollard, the captain of MI Cape Town is in for a chat. He says that they did bat well enough. Adds that restricting the opponents to around 160 was good, but the batting let them down and he regrets that dropped catch as well. Tells that they knew that Roy and Buttler would go hard from the start but they did well to pull things back and reckons that they probably gave 10 runs more. Mentions that he do not regret the decision to bowl first and you have to back yourselves to do well. Says that they will need to comeback stronger in the next one and they will not over analyse too much as every team goes through a collapse like this in the tournament, but they are confident as a team and will be looking to put up better performances in the upcoming games.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Eventually, Ryan Rickelton became the third victim of the pressure and was sent back to the dugout inside the Powerplay itself. Paarl Royals got off to a brilliant start and had MI Cape Town by the scruff of the neck. They continued to remain brilliant in the middle phase. There was a period for MI Cape Town when Connor Esterhuizen and Sam Curran stitched a decent partnership and tries to build a platform for the final 10 overs, although it did not go as per their plan. Tabraiz Shamsi came into the attack and struck twice in the final three deliveries of his final over, to take the game away from the opposition. Lungi Ngidi also did a brilliant job in the end to get rid of the tail-enders. Bjorn Fortuin though was the one who stood out with his three-wicket haul. Only three batters for MI Cape Town got into double digits from their top 6 batters, and that certainly is a red flag for any team.
The conditions in Boland Park are so tricky that it could be seen throughout the second innings. MI Cape Town came out to bat to chase down 163 runs, which could've been the highest total chased down on this venue if their batters had turned up. Although, that wasn't the case. The man in-form Ryan Rickelton got a single off the very first delivery, but ended up getting a front-row seat to a horror movie. He saw his partners being sent back twice in the very first over itself and surely, that can be a mood-killer for anyone. It was Bjorn Fortuin who made the batters dance to his tune with the new ball. We all expected that the conditions could be better with the new ball at least, but that wasn't the case. There was plenty of purchase on offer for the spinners from the get go, and to make it worse, there was hardly any bounce there.
What a contest! Paarl Royals continue their domination at home and have gotten back to winning ways here. They do not let MI Cape Town to get a double over them. This victory will surely be a sweet one for them as they get an extra point as well from this game. MI Cape Town pulled things back brilliantly for themselves in the first innings, but when they came out to bat, the bounce had left the stadium.

OUT! BOWLED'EM! Lungi Ngidi finishes the job here! He will feel even better as he gets the wicket of his bowling partner for South Africa. This one is a slower one, full and on middle, Kagiso Rabada clears his front leg to go for the slog but goes through his shot way early as the ball rattles into the stumps. Ngidi and Rabada share a handshake and it is all smiles for the home team Paarl Royals win by 59 runs!

OUT! TAKEN! Another one bites the dust! Obed McCoy gets his second as well. He bangs this one into the pitch, on pace as well, Thomas Kaber stays back and tries to pull it away, but gets a bit hurried and his bat turns in his hands. As a result, he mistimes it badly in the air behind mid on, Wihan Lubbe backtracks a bit and takes a good catch. Paarl Royals one wicket away from the win now!
