Right then, that is it from this game! Durban's Super Giants beat the Paarl Royals by a mammoth margin of 125 runs! However, the SA20 League action continues as we have a game lined up for Monday, the 29th of January. It will be MI Cape Town versus Joburg Super Kings at 9 pm IST (3.30 pm GMT), but as you know, our build-up begins much sooner, so do join us for the same. Until then, take care and cheer!
Matthew Breetzke is the Player of the Match for his knock of 78 runs. He says that he is happy with his knock, and his game is improving a lot. He adds that the coaches are excellent, and he just keeps on playing and getting better. He ends by saying that he is happy with the win.
Keshav Maharaj the skipper of Durban's Super Giants says that it was too clinical to say the least. The boys turned up well and executed the plans with precision. Appreciates Noor Ahmed and says that he has improved phenomenally over the years. Goes on to saying that Bretzkee batted really well and that he has given fantastic starts throughout the season. On Klaasen batting too low, he says that he has always delivered and is a world-class performer, which is why they got him down the order to aggressively bat at the backend. Ends up saying that they aim to finish in the top two.
David Miller, the skipper of Paarl Royals, says that it was a bad day for them. He adds that the guys tried to restrict the opponents, but they couldn't do so. He says that they are still in the hunt for the top two and ends by saying that they will reset this and come back stronger.
Stay tuned for the Presentations...
Earlier in the day, after a few hiccups, Durban's Super Giants mounted a challenging total of 208 and were helped by Matthew Bretzkee with his belligerent 78 and Heinrich Klaasen's destructive batting at the backend. Tabraiz Shamsi was the pick of the bowlers as he was economical when the others were being taken to the cleaners. Keeping in mind the explosive batting line-up of the Royals, DSG bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals and bundled them on a paltry 83, registering their sixth win this season.
Paarl Royals were under the pump from the word go. Mitchell van Buuren was the lone batter who kept on batting till the end, but the other batters kept on losing wickets at the other end. Only two of their batters scored in double digits, and the rest were dismissed in single digits. Paarl Royals lost both of their games against Durban's Super Giants and both, by huge margins.
Well, well, the Durban's Super Giants have again trounced the Paarl Royals, and this is even by a bigger margin of 125 runs! They maintain their dominance in the SA20 League in 2024. It was Marcus Stoinis and Reece Topley who ran havoc over the Royals batters. Noor Ahmad, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Keshav Maharaj did the rest of the cleanup. Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers for the Giants as he picked up a five-fer. Keshav Maharaj ended up with two, while Naveen-ul-Haq, Stoinis, and Reece Topley have one in their kitty.

OUT! LBW! APPEAL and given OUT again. Shamsi does send it upstairs. This is on a shade fuller length and turns into the right-hander from the middle stump. Tabraiz Shamsi is totally undone with the turn as the ball goes past his inside edge and crashes into the pads. UltraEdge comes up and shows that there is a clear gap between the bat and the pad. Ball Tracking follows and confirms that three reds again. Durban's Super Giants win by a huge margin of 125 runs bundling the Paarl Royals on a paltry 83. Durban's Super Giants with this win, massively improved their net run rate.
Tabraiz Shamsi is the last batter in.

OUT! LBW! APPEAL and up goes the finger. McCoy sends it upstairs. This is on a flatter trajectory in front of the sticks on a fuller length, McCoy plays completely down the wrong line in an attempt to flick it off the back foot. The ball sneaks through his inside edge. It keeps a bit low on the bounce and thuds his pads in front of the stumps. The UltraEdge comes up and shows a clear gap between the bat and the ball. Ball Tracker confirms three reds as the ball is hitting the middle stump. OUT stands as the decision. Durban's Super Giants are just one wicket away from the win now.
