KL Rahul Not Fit
KL Rahul, Lucknow SuperGiants captain, faced a thigh injury against RCB while attempting to stop the ball. He has already left the camp and officially ruled out of the IPL 2023. According to confirmed information, Rahul was sent to Mumbai for scans and as reported on May 3 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In his Instagram, Rahul confirmed that he will be undergoing surgery on his thigh and missing the World Test Championship final, which is to be played in early June. After careful consideration with the medical team, it’s been concluded that I’ll be undergoing surgery. Also, he stated that “My focus will be on my rehabilitation and recovery in the coming weeks. It’s a tough call to make, but I know it’s the right one to ensure a full recovery.
“Absolutely gutted that I won’t be at the Oval next month with Team India. I’ll do everything I can to get back in the blue and help my country. That has always been my focus and priority.
KL Rahul Replacement For LSG & WTC Final
Lucknow Super Giants have signed Karun Nair as a replacement for Rahul in IPL 2023. Only four league games left for them, and they are aiming to qualify for the playoffs. Instead, KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya have already been named skippers for the remaining games of LSG.
On the other hand, Jaydev Unadkat got injured on the shoulder while practising in the nets. His situation is unknown with the WTC even, though he has been ruled out of the IPL. Lucknow Super Giants may worry about their players, but the game should move on.
The BCCI will announce the replacement(s) soon. But there is no clue for the player who comes as a replacement for Rahul. Many names are rolling out like Saha, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, but BCCI should decide who will be one among them.
